Working Principle of Double Glazing
Double glass works effectively on conduction, convection and radiation, which are the three basic ways of heat transfer.
- Conduction: The layer of air or gas between two layers of glass slows down the rate of heat conduction.
- Convection: The air layer reduces convection by preventing the upward movement of warm air.
- Radiation: Heat loss from the glass surface is reduced thanks to special coatings.
